How to find your green timing in NBA 2K27 on a Cronus Zen

A repeatable method for dialling in auto green timing for any jumpshot in 2K27, from a rough starting value to a locked-in profile.

Auto green on a Zen is only as good as the timing value you give it. Too early and you push every shot, too late and you get the slightly-late brick that looks like it should have gone in. The good news is that a jumpshot's release is consistent, so once you find the number it stays found until you change the animation or 2K changes the shot meter.

This is the method we use for every new build.

What the number actually means

The script starts a timer when you begin the shot and releases at the millisecond you set. For a Normal release speed most 2K27 jumpshots land somewhere between 500 and 750 ms. Very Quick releases sit lower, Slow releases higher. The exact value depends on your base, your upper releases, the blend, and your release speed setting in the build.

Nothing else matters as much as those four things. Shooting badges change the size of the window, not where the middle of it is.

Step 1: pick a starting value

Set your release speed on the Zen to match the one in your MyPlayer build. Then start from these values and adjust from there:

Release speed Starting value
Very Quick 480 ms
Quick 560 ms
Normal 640 ms
Slow 720 ms

These are not magic numbers. They are close enough that your first ten shots will tell you which direction to move.

Step 2: shoot ten open catch-and-shoots

Go to a MyCourt or a Freestyle session, not the Rec. You want zero fatigue, zero contest, and the same shot ten times. Catch and shoot from the same spot, no dribbles, no movement.

Watch the feedback, not the make. Ten shots gives you a clear lean:

  • Mostly slightly early or very early: add 20 ms.
  • Mostly slightly late or very late: take off 20 ms.
  • A mix of early and late around the odd green: you are close, move in 10 ms steps.

Step 3: tighten to 10 ms, then 5

Once early and late are roughly balanced, move in 10 ms steps and shoot another ten. When you are hitting six or more greens out of ten with the misses split both ways, drop to 5 ms steps for the last pass. Most people finish within 15 ms of where they started this step.

Step 4: check it with fatigue

Stamina lowers your release in 2K27. Run a couple of full-court sprints, then shoot five more. If those come up early, your timing is set for a fresh player and will drift late in the fourth quarter. Split the difference, or keep a second profile with a value about 10 ms higher for tired legs.

Step 5: save it to a profile

Save the value to one of the three Zen profiles and name it after the build. If you also run a slasher, give that build its own profile with its own timing. Switching mid-game is a button combination, so there is no reason to compromise on one number for both.

When to redo it

  • You change any part of the jumpshot animation.
  • You change release speed in the build.
  • 2K ships a patch that touches shooting. Check the first few shots after every update.

The whole process takes about fifteen minutes the first time and five after that. It is the single biggest difference between someone who says auto green "kind of works" and someone who greens everything open.
